How to Draw a Geyser

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a geyser in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: ground and mound.

Print

  1. Step 1: Ground and mound

Draw a low ground line. From it draw a wide low mound, round on top, back down to it.

  2. Step 2: The water jet

Draw 2 lines up from the mound's top, join them with 3 splashy bumps, then rub out the line between.

Tip A tall thin tower of water that bursts into bumps on top.

  3. Step 3: The steam cloud

Round the jet's top draw a wide bumpy steam cloud behind it, puffing out on both sides.

  4. Step 4: Flying drops

Draw 4 little teardrops flying out from the jet, points up, 2 each side, the lower one further out.

  5. Step 5: Rocks

At the foot of the mound draw 2 round rocks on the ground, one each side.

  6. Step 6: Grass

Near each end of the ground line flick 2 short curved grass blades up from the ground.

  7. Step 7: The sun

In the top left corner draw a small round sun with 8 short rays round it.

  8. Step 8: Blue water

Colour the tall jet sky blue and all 4 flying drops blue.

  9. Step 9: White steam, yellow sun

Leave the steam white and colour the sun yellow.

  10. Step 10: Stone mound, grey rocks

Colour the mound stone grey around the jet and rocks, and the 2 rocks grey. Your geyser is done!
