How to Draw a Lava Monster
Draw a lava monster in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.
Step 1: Big egg head
Near the top, draw a big head lying like an egg on its side. Make it almost half the monster.
Step 2: Three flames
On top of the head, draw 3 pointy flames, the middle one tallest. Draw a small flame inside each.
Step 3: Big round eyes
Across the middle of the head, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Add a little brow over each.
Step 4: Little round nose
Under the eyes, in the middle, draw a small round nose.
Step 5: Fanged grin
Under the nose, draw a wide grin from cheek to cheek. Hang a pointy fang near each end.
Step 6: Cracked belly
Under the head, draw a pear body, narrower than the head. Add a jagged, branching crack down the tummy.
Step 7: Mitten arms
From under each cheek, draw a fat sausage arm. Bend it in to a round mitten halfway down the tummy.
Step 8: Legs and feet
At each bottom corner, draw a short fat leg on a flat foot. Draw the ground under them.
Step 9: Fiery flames
Colour the small inner flames yellow. Colour each big flame orange around the yellow, and the nose orange.
Step 10: Crack and grin
Colour the crack on the tummy orange so it glows. Colour inside the grin red, around the fangs.
Step 11: Dark rock colour
Go over your lines. Colour the monster dark grey around the orange and red parts. All done!
Tip Leave the eyes and fangs white.
