How to Draw a Kitty with a Bow

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a kitty with a bow in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

Near the top, draw a big egg on its side, with soft chubby cheeks.

Tip The head is more than half of the whole kitty.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

Draw a tall pointy ear on each top corner of the head. Add a small triangle inside each one.

Tip Ears lean out a little, like a kitty listening.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots and white shines.

  4. Step 4: Nose and W smile

Under the eyes, draw a small upside-down triangle nose. From its point, draw a W smile out under each eye.

Tip Both smile curves start at the very same spot on the nose.

  5. Step 5: A bow

Under the chin, draw a round knot. Add a loop on each side, tucked under the chin, for a bow.

Tip The loops point out sideways, like a ribbon bow.

  6. Step 6: Front legs

From under the chin, draw a U leg down to a mitten paw and back up to the bow.

Tip Wide at the top, thin at the ankle. Add a paw curve and 2 toes. Draw both legs.

  7. Step 7: Back paws

Beside each front paw, draw a round bun back paw, tucked in behind it. Add 2 toes.

  8. Step 8: Ground line

Draw a long line under all 4 paws for the ground.

  9. Step 9: Plump body

Start under each cheek. Draw a big C down to the top of the back paw.

Tip The body is never wider than the head.

  10. Step 10: Curly tail

From the right hip, draw a thick tail along the ground, curling up to a round tip.

Tip Thick at the body, thin at the tip.

  11. Step 11: Whiskers

Draw 2 whiskers out from each cheek, starting a little way outside the face.

  12. Step 12: Pink nose and ears

Colour the nose and the inside of each ear pink.

  13. Step 13: Grey fur

Colour the fur grey, around the pink nose and ears and the bow. Leave the eyes and paws white.

  14. Step 14: Red bow

Colour the bow and its knot red.
