How to Draw a Lava Lamp
Draw a lava lamp in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall glass.
Step 1: Tall glass
In the middle draw a tall glass: narrow flat top, sides sloping out, then tucking in to a flat bottom.
Tip Like an ice cream cone flipped upside down, with its bottom corners tucked in.
Step 2: Cap
On top of the glass draw a small cap, a little wider at the bottom, like a tiny lampshade.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the glass, above the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a black dot and white shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile from eye to eye, and a little oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: Lava blobs
Inside the glass draw 3 wobbly blobs floating, clear of the face. Add a wavy line near the bottom.
Step 6: Base and floor
Draw a smile under the glass, slant a line down from each end, and a floor line left to right.
Step 7: Sparkles
Add 4 little sparkles around the lamp, not touching it.
Step 8: Blue glass
Go over your lines, then colour the glass blue around the face and the lava, leaving the eyes white.
Step 9: Pink lava
Colour the lava blobs, the lava pool and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Purple cap and base
Colour the cap and the base purple. Groovy!
