How to Draw a Lasso Rope
Draw a lasso rope in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big loop.
Step 1: The big loop
At the bottom right draw a big flat oval, tilted a little, like a hoop lying on the ground.
Tip Keep it wide and flat: the loop lies on the ground.
Step 2: Inside the loop
Draw another flat oval inside, a finger in from the edge. Now the loop is a thick ring of rope.
Step 3: The knot
On the ring's left end draw a small knot circle. Add a short rope end with a round tip.
Step 4: Rope from the knot
From the top of the knot draw a thick rope arching up to the left. Stop a little way along.
Step 5: The coil
Where the rope stops, draw a flat ring: an oval with a small oval inside. The rope tucks behind it.
Step 6: Loops below
Under the ring draw a wide U from side to side. Add a second, wider U under that.
Step 7: Twists on the loop
Draw 8 short slanted lines across the loop ring, from the inside oval to the outside. Skip the knot.
Step 8: Twists on the coil
Do the same round the top ring of the coil, 5 slanted lines from the hole to the edge.
Step 9: Twists below
Add 3 slanted lines across each U under the ring, from line to line.
Step 10: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the coil and the loop, from edge to edge. Add 3 sparkle stars.
Step 11: Yellow sparkles
Colour the 3 sparkles yellow.
Step 12: Tan rope
Go over your lines. Colour the rope tan, leaving the holes in the loop and coil white. Ready to swing!
