How to Draw a Laksa
Draw a laksa in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little above the middle draw a wide oval for the top of the bowl, about a hand wide.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big deep U down and round, up to the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Under the bowl draw a short stand: start on the bottom left, go down, across, and up to the right.
Step 4: The soup
Inside the rim draw a second oval, a finger inside it, for the soup.
Step 5: Curled prawn
On the left of the soup draw a fat rainbow shape for a curled prawn. Add a little tail fan and 3 stripes.
Step 6: Egg and tofu
At the front draw an oval egg half with a round yolk inside. Add 2 small tofu blocks with soft corners.
Step 7: Noodles
In the middle of the soup draw 2 fat wavy noodles, one under the other, like wiggly worms.
Step 8: Chopsticks lifting noodles
Above the bowl draw 2 thin chopsticks slanting up right. Hang 3 fat noodles over them, down into the soup.
Step 9: Steam, stripe and table
Draw 2 wavy steam lines above the bowl, a curved stripe from side to side, and a table line under the foot.
Step 10: Yellow noodles
Go over your lines. Colour the 2 wavy noodles, the 3 lifted noodles and the egg yolk yellow.
Step 11: Orange soup
Colour the soup orange around the noodles, the prawn, the egg and the tofu.
Step 12: Pink prawn, white egg
Colour the prawn and its tail pink. Leave the egg and the bowl white.
Step 13: Tan tofu, wood chopsticks
Colour the 2 tofu blocks tan and the chopsticks wood brown.
Step 14: Teal band
Colour the band between the rim and the stripe teal. Your laksa is ready!
