How to Draw a Ladybug on a Leaf
Draw a ladybug on a leaf in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: ladybug's head.
Step 1: Ladybug's head
Above the middle draw a wide egg head. From its top draw 2 short antennae ending in little balls.
Step 2: Eyes and smile
On the head draw 2 big eggy eyes with black dots. Add an open smile under them.
Step 3: The shell
Behind the head draw a big round dome for the shell, much wider than the head.
Step 4: Line and spots
Draw a line down the middle of the shell, head to back. Add 3 round spots on each half.
Step 5: Six legs
On each side of the shell draw 3 short bent legs, each ending in a small round foot.
Step 6: A big leaf
Under the ladybug draw a big fat leaf, pointed at each end, with every foot on the leaf.
Tip The leaf is much bigger than the ladybug.
Step 7: Leaf veins
From each point of the leaf draw a vein to the shell. Near each point add 2 little V veins.
Step 8: The stem
Start at the left point of the leaf. Draw a short stem down and out to a round end.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour a little pink cheek on the head beside each end of the smile.
Step 10: Red shell
Colour the shell red around the spots. Colour the open mouth red too.
Step 11: Green leaf
Colour the leaf and its stem green, around the ladybug.
Step 12: Black head and legs
Colour the head, spots, legs and antenna balls black, around the cheeks and smile. Leave the eyes white.
