How to Draw a Titanoboa
Draw a titanoboa in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
On the left, a little above the middle, draw a big round head like an egg lying down.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right and below for the giant body.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour big black dots, leaving white shines.
Step 3: Nostrils and smile
Dot 2 nostrils under the eyes. Start under the left eye and draw a wide smile to the right eye.
Step 4: Forked tongue
From the middle of the smile, draw a short tongue just past the chin. Split the end into 2 points.
Tip The tongue should not touch the body.
Step 5: Giant thick body
Start at the right cheek. Loop a very thick body round to a point, then back up beside the tongue.
Tip Make the body almost as thick as the head is tall. It folds back and lies on the ground.
Step 6: Belly line
Start under the chin. Draw a belly line along the underside of the neck, joining the edge at the bend.
Step 7: The ground
Start at the left edge under the snake. Draw a straight ground line across to the right edge.
Step 8: Tiny palm tree
On the ground at the far right, draw a tiny palm tree: a thin trunk and 4 leaves.
Tip The tree is tiny because this snake was as long as a bus.
Step 9: Saddle blotches
Along the top of the body, draw a row of 7 big oval blotches, shrinking as the body thins.
Step 10: Cream belly
Colour the belly strip cream.
Step 11: Green leaves, red tongue
Colour the 4 palm leaves green and the tongue red.
Step 12: Light brown snake
Colour the head and body light brown, around the belly and blotches. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Dark brown blotches
Colour the blotches and the palm trunk dark brown, and your titanoboa is done.
