How to Draw a Kettle
Draw a kettle in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the kettle body.
Step 1: The kettle body
In the middle of your paper, draw a big plump dome with a flat bottom, like a fat hill.
Tip Fatter at the bottom than the top.
Step 2: Lid and handle
On top draw a flat lid with a knob. Arch a thick rainbow from one end over to the other.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes in the middle of the kettle. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The spout
Low on the right side, draw a fat spout slanting up, flat at the tip, then back to the body.
Tip Wide where it joins the kettle, thinner at the tip.
Step 6: Steam
Just above the spout's tip, draw 2 soft wiggly steam lines rising up, like little snakes.
Step 7: A stripe
Near the bottom of the kettle, start on the left edge and draw a gentle smile across to the right.
Step 8: Table and shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow under the kettle, poking out both sides. Add a table line out from each end.
Step 9: Yellow lid, grey handle
Colour the lid and the bottom stripe yellow, then the handle and the knob grey.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow grey.
Step 11: Red kettle
Colour the kettle and spout red above the stripe, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your kettle is whistling!
