How to Draw a Kawaii Watermelon
Draw a kawaii watermelon in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pointy top.
Step 1: Pointy top
Start low on the left. Draw a tall upside-down V with a soft round tip. Stop low on the right.
Tip Fill most of the page, and make both sides the same length.
Step 2: Curved bottom
Start at the left end. Draw a curve that dips like a smile. Stop at the right end.
Step 3: Big shiny eyes
Below the middle draw 2 big ovals, wide apart. Colour them black, leaving 2 white shines in each.
Tip Big eyes set wide apart are the kawaii secret.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Between the eyes, a little lower, draw a small U smile. Add an oval cheek beside each eye.
Step 5: The rind
Start on the left side, a finger above the corner. Draw a second curve and stop on the right side.
Tip Keep it the same distance from the bottom all the way along.
Step 6: White band
Start just above that curve. Draw a third curve, very close, and stop on the right side.
Step 7: Three seeds
Near the tip draw 3 teardrop seeds: 1 on top and 2 below it, points up.
Tip Keep the seeds off the lines and well above the eyes.
Step 8: The table
Start at the left. Draw a straight line that just touches the bottom of the slice. Stop at the right.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 cheek ovals pink.
Step 10: Red inside
Colour the inside red, around the eyes, cheeks and seeds. Stop at the thin band.
Tip Leave the shines in the eyes white.
Step 11: Green rind
Colour the bottom strip green. Leave the thin band above it white.
Step 12: Black seeds
Colour the 3 seeds black. Your kawaii watermelon is done!
