How to Draw Jungle Leaves
Draw jungle leaves in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a long leaf.
Step 1: A long leaf
Start on the ground, left of the middle. Draw a long pointed leaf leaning up left, like a long eye.
Tip Make it big: from the ground almost to the top of the paper.
Step 2: Leaf veins
Draw a line up the middle of the long leaf to its point. Add 3 pairs of veins slanting up.
Step 3: The big leaf
In front draw a big heart leaf: a point on top, 2 deep notches each side, a dip below.
Tip Cut the notches deep, almost halfway in.
Step 4: The middle rib
Draw a straight line up the middle of the big leaf, from the dip to the point.
Step 5: Leaf holes
Draw 3 long thin holes near the middle line: 2 on the right, 1 on the left, at different heights.
Step 6: The stalk
From the dip of the big leaf draw a stalk down to the ground, wider at the bottom.
Step 7: A fern stem
Start on the ground on the right. Draw a thin stem curving up and over left, stop at a point.
Step 8: Top leaflets
From a small tip leaflet down the top half of the stem, draw pairs of thin pointed leaflets, growing bigger.
Step 9: Bottom leaflets
Draw more pairs of leaflets down the bottom half of the stem, getting smaller again near the ground.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a straight ground line across the paper under all the stems, with a tuft of grass at each end.
Step 11: Light green long leaf
Colour the long leaf light green.
Step 12: Teal fern
Colour all the leaflets of the fern teal.
Step 13: Dark green big leaf
Colour the big leaf and its stalk dark green, leaving the holes white. Your jungle leaves are done!
