How to Draw a Jigsaw Tool
Draw a jigsaw tool in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
In the middle draw the saw body: a long rounded box lying sideways, its right end rounded like a nose.
Tip A jigsaw has a thin blade that goes up and down to cut curves.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the body, toward the right, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, with a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The handle
On top of the body draw a big arch from the left to the middle, with a smaller arch inside.
Step 5: The shoe plate
Under the body draw a long thin box, a little wider than the body, for the flat shoe plate.
Step 6: Board and ground
Under the plate draw a thick board sticking out past both ends, with a ground line under it.
Step 7: The blade
Under the front of the plate draw a long thin blade hanging down into the board, with zigzag teeth.
Step 8: Vents and cord
Draw 3 vent lines on the body. From its left end draw a cord to a plug on the ground.
Step 9: Sawdust and sparkles
Draw a heap of 4 sawdust dots on the board by the blade, and a sparkle at each top corner.
Step 10: Orange body
Go over your lines, then colour the body and handle orange, going round the face and leaving the eyes white.
Step 11: Tan board, slate plate
Colour the board tan around the blade, then the plate, blade and plug slate.
Step 12: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink. Your jigsaw is ready to cut!
