How to Draw a Jet
Draw a jet in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: torpedo body.
Step 1: Torpedo body
Start at the nose on the right. Draw a torpedo body to a C tail, then back to the nose.
Tip The body is fat at the front and gets thinner toward the tail.
Step 2: Big eyes
In the fat front part, draw 2 big round eyes a little apart, with a fat dot and 2 shines.
Step 3: Dome and grin
Start on the top line in front of the eyes. Draw a big rainbow dome over them, stopping behind them.
Tip Add a shine inside the dome and a little U grin under the eyes.
Step 4: Big swept wing
Start on the tummy under the back eye. Sweep a long wing down to a round tip, then back up.
Tip A wide shark-fin wing, fat where it leaves the body.
Step 5: Far wing
Start on the top line behind the dome. Sweep a shorter wing up to a round tip, then back down.
Step 6: Engine cup
Start on top of the tail end. Draw a C cap round to the bottom, then rule back up.
Step 7: Tall tail fin
Start on the top line over the far wing. Draw a tall fin leaning back, dropping down to the engine.
Step 8: Flame
Start on top of the engine cap. Draw a teardrop flame out to a point, then to the cap bottom.
Step 9: Racing stripe
Start on the engine ring. Draw a long stripe forward, round the end behind the eyes, back to the ring.
Tip Leave a gap between the round end and the back eye.
Step 10: Nose line
Start at the front of the stripe. Draw a line under the eyes, above the grin, to the nose.
Step 11: Sky dome, pink cheeks
Colour the dome sky blue. Colour a little pink cheek beside each end of the grin.
Step 12: Grey engine, orange flame
Colour the engine cup grey and the flame orange.
Step 13: Red wings, blue top
Colour the wings, fin and stripe red, and the top blue down to the lines. Leave the eyes white.
