How to Draw an Armored Truck

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw an armored truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cab and big box.

Print

  1. Step 1: Cab and big box

Start low on the left. Draw a short cab, step up to a tall box, then down to the bottom.

Tip A short cab with a tall box behind, like a safe on wheels.

  2. Step 2: Floor and wheel bumps

Start at the bottom front. Draw the floor with 2 big rainbow bumps and stop at the back wall.

Tip Each bump is about a quarter of the truck long.

  3. Step 3: Headlight and bumper

Low on the front wall, draw a small tall headlight with round corners. Add a pill bumper on the corner.

  4. Step 4: Two fat tyres

Under each bump, draw a big round tyre a bit smaller than the bump, leaving a thin gap on top.

  5. Step 5: The low windscreen

On the cab, draw a wide low windscreen with soft corners, a finger in from the front and the roof.

Tip Armored truck windows are small slots, so keep it low.

  6. Step 6: The door window

Behind the windscreen, draw 1 small tall window on the cab, the same height as the windscreen.

  7. Step 7: The steel band

Draw a thin band along the whole truck, below the windows: 2 level lines from front wall to back wall.

  8. Step 8: Door and tail light

Draw 2 door lines from the band down to the floor between the bumps. Add a handle and tail light.

Tip Both door lines stop on the floor, not on a bump.

  9. Step 9: Barred window and rivets

High on the box, above the door, draw 1 small window with 2 bars. Dot 4 rivets along the top.

  10. Step 10: Hubcaps and road

Draw a smaller circle with a dot in each tyre. Draw a straight road under the tyres, front to back.

  11. Step 11: Sky windows, yellow lamp

Go over your lines. Colour all 3 windows sky blue, leaving a little white shine. Colour the headlight yellow.

  12. Step 12: Grey bits, red light

Colour the bumper, handle, hubcaps and rivets grey. Colour the tail light red.

  13. Step 13: Slate truck, black tyres

Colour the truck slate grey around everything you coloured. Colour the band navy blue and the tyres black.
