How to Draw a Jaguarundi

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a jaguarundi in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big soft head

Near the left, draw a big soft head like an egg on its side, with round cheeks.

Tip Leave lots of room on the right for a long body.

  2. Step 2: Small cat ears

On each top corner of the head draw a small ear with a round tip and a curve inside.

Tip A jaguarundi has small, low ears.

  3. Step 3: Big eyes

On the middle of the head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.

  4. Step 4: Snout and smile

Under the eyes draw a small oval snout inside the head. From its black nose, draw down into a w.

  5. Step 5: Long low back

Start on the head beside the eyes. Draw a long back, curl round its back end, stop below the head.

Tip This cat is long and low, like a big weasel.

  6. Step 6: Short front leg

Draw a ground line. Start under the head. Draw a short leg down to a paw, then back up.

  7. Step 7: Tummy and back leg

From the front leg draw the tummy. Curve down a round thigh to a paw, up to its back end.

Tip The back leg bends once, just above the paw.

  8. Step 8: Far legs

Under the tummy draw 2 more legs peeking out, each one down to a small paw.

Tip Only part of each far leg shows. All 4 paws sit on the ground.

  9. Step 9: Toes

On each big paw draw 2 short curved toe lines. Draw 1 on each small paw.

  10. Step 10: Long tail

Start on its back end. Draw a long thick tail sweeping down behind to a thin tip, and back up.

Tip The tail is nearly as long as the body and hangs low.

  11. Step 11: Light grey snout

Colour the snout and the inside of each ear light grey.

  12. Step 12: Colour it grey

Go over your lines. Colour the jaguarundi dark grey, around the snout and ear middles. Leave the eyes white.
