How to Draw Jacks and Ball

Step 1: The ball

Left of the middle draw a round ball, as big as an orange.

Tip In jacks you bounce the ball and scoop up the metal stars.

Step 2: Ball stripe

Draw 2 curved lines across the ball like a wide smile, from its left edge to its right edge.

Step 3: A shine

Near the top left of the ball draw a small slanted oval for a shine.

Step 4: First jack bar

Left of the ball draw a flat bar with a round knob on each end, like a dumbbell.

Step 5: A crossing bar

Draw a second bar with knobs slanting through the middle of the first, tucked behind it.

Step 6: A metal star

Add a third bar slanting the other way, behind the other two. Now your jack is a star.

Tip The 2 bottom knobs are level: they rest on the floor.

Step 7: Second jack

Right of the ball draw a bar standing almost straight up, with a knob on each end.

Step 8: Its slanted bar

Cross it with a slanted bar with 2 knobs, tucked behind the middle.

Step 9: Its last bar

Add the last bar slanting the other way, behind the other two, to finish the second star.

Step 10: Third jack

Further right draw a smaller bar with 2 knobs, leaning a little to the left.

Step 11: Small star

Cross the small bar with 2 more bars with knobs, tucked behind it, like the other jacks.

Step 12: Floor and shadow

Draw a floor line from far left to far right under everything. Add a thin oval shadow under the ball.

Step 13: Sparkles

Draw 3 little sparkles in the air above, spread out and different sizes.

Step 14: Yellow stripe

Go over your lines, then colour the ball's stripe and the 3 sparkles yellow.

Step 15: Red ball

Colour the rest of the ball red around the stripe, leaving the shine white.

Step 16: Grey jacks

Colour all 3 jacks grey and the shadow under the ball grey too. Your jacks are done!
