How to Draw Jack and the Beanstalk
Draw Jack and the Beanstalk in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the beanstalk.
Step 1: The beanstalk
Draw a ground line. From the ground on the left, draw a thick stalk winding up to the top right.
Tip Leave room at the top right for a cloud and castle.
Step 2: Jack's head
Near the bottom, right of the stalk, draw a small round head. Add a bumpy cap of hair on top.
Step 3: Jack's face
On the head, draw 2 round eyes with a dot and a shine each, and a small smile under them.
Step 4: Tunic and arms
Under the head, draw a tunic. Add 2 arms with mittens, one reaching up to the stalk, one hanging down.
Step 5: Legs and boots
From the tunic, draw 2 short legs down to the ground, with a boot on each pointing out.
Step 6: Leaves on the left
On the left of the stalk, draw 2 big pointed leaves, one low and one high, each with a vein.
Step 7: Leaves on the right
On the right, draw 2 more pointed leaves, one low and one halfway up, each with a vein.
Step 8: Cloud and curls
At the top of the stalk, draw a wide puffy cloud. Add 2 little curls springing off the stalk.
Step 9: The giant's castle
On the cloud, draw a castle block with 2 towers. Add an arched door from the bottom, back to it.
Step 10: Grass
Draw a tuft of 3 soft grass blades on the ground at each side.
Step 11: Peach skin, stone castle
Colour Jack's face, arms and legs peach, and the castle stone grey. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Green stalk and leaves
Colour the stalk, leaves and grass leaf green, around Jack's hand. Leave the cloud white.
Step 13: Blue tunic, brown boots
Go over your lines. Colour Jack's tunic blue, and his hair and boots brown.
