How to Draw an Ironing Board
Draw an ironing board in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long board.
Step 1: The long board
Above the middle draw a long flat board, nearly edge to edge, a thumb tall. Round off the left end.
Tip The rounded end is the front, where shirts go.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the board draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile from eye to eye. Add a little oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Two crossed legs
Draw 2 long slim legs from under the board, crossing like a big X, stopping a hand above the bottom.
Tip The legs cross so the board folds up flat.
Step 5: The pivot
Where the legs cross draw a small dot for the bolt they turn on.
Step 6: Feet and floor
At the bottom of each leg draw a small flat foot. Then draw a floor line under both feet.
Step 7: The iron
On the right end draw an iron pointing left. Arch a handle from its top front to its top back.
Step 8: Puffs of steam
Start just off the iron's nose and draw 2 little wavy lines of steam rising up to the left.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Blue cover
Colour the board cover light blue around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Grey legs, red iron
Colour the legs, pivot and feet grey, and the iron and its handle red. Ready to iron!
