How to Draw an Indiana Flag
Draw an indiana flag in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge out to the right, come down, and wave back.
Tip Make the flag big. It has to hold a torch and 19 stars.
Step 3: The torch
In the middle of the flag draw a small bowl. Under it draw a short handle that gets thinner.
Step 4: The flame
On top of the bowl draw a pointed flame, fat at the bottom.
Step 5: The big star
Just above the flame draw a star. This one is the biggest star on the flag.
Tip The big star stands for Indiana.
Step 6: Top of the ring
Draw a star at the top, well above the big star. Add 3 stars curving down each side.
Step 7: Finish the ring
Carry the ring on round the bottom with 6 more stars. Now 13 stars make a circle.
Step 8: Five inside stars
Inside the ring draw 5 stars in a U shape under the torch.
Step 9: Rays of light
Draw 6 short rays shining out from the flame, 3 on each side. Aim each at a star.
Step 10: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 11: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 12: Golden torch and stars
Colour the torch, the flame and all 19 stars golden yellow.
Step 13: Blue flag
Colour the flag blue, around the torch and the stars. Go over your lines and your flag is waving!
