How to Draw an Iguana Face
Draw an iguana face in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Draw a long head on its side: a blunt snout on the left, a flat top and a round back.
Step 2: Big eye
Near the front of the head, draw one big round eye with a big black dot and a white shine.
Tip Make the eye big, almost half as tall as the head.
Step 3: Smile
Start at the snout. Sweep a smile back under the eye, and curl it up at the end.
Step 4: Nostril
Near the front of the snout, draw a tiny oval nostril, a little way above the smile.
Step 5: Throat flap
Under the jaw, draw a big throat flap like half a plate, with 6 round bumps along its edge.
Tip An iguana has a big hanging throat fan, so the face is tall.
Step 6: Spiky top
Along the top of the head, from the eye to the back, draw 4 pointy triangle spikes in a row.
Step 7: Round ear
Just behind the eye, level with its middle, draw a small round circle for the ear.
Step 8: Round cheek
Behind the smile, under the ear, draw one big round circle for the cheek.
Step 9: Leaf flap and cheek
Go over your lines, then colour the throat flap and the round cheek light leaf green.
Step 10: Green iguana
Colour the head and the spikes dark green, going around the cheek. Leave the eye white.
