How to Draw an Ice Cream Scooper

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room below: the scooper stands behind a counter.

Step 2: The face

Below the middle of the head draw 2 big oval eyes. Add a tiny U nose, a smile and eyebrows.

Step 3: Paper hat

On top of the head draw a paper hat, wider at the bottom. Add a band line across it.

Step 4: Hair tufts

Under each side of the hat draw a small hair tuft, from the hat down to beside the eyebrow.

Step 5: Neck and shirt

From the chin draw 2 neck lines down to a boxy shirt with sleeves.

Step 6: Bow tie and apron

Under the chin draw a bow tie. Below it draw an apron, wider at the hem.

Step 7: Arms

From the left sleeve draw an arm bent in, stopping at the tummy. From the right, an arm out sideways.

Tip The right arm holds the cone out; the left fist holds the scoop up.

Step 8: Hands

Draw a fist on each wrist, like an egg with a thumb bump. Add a curved finger line on each.

Step 9: Cone and scoop

Draw a cone with 2 scoops behind the right fist. From the left fist, a handle up to a cup.

Tip The cone and handle pass behind the fists, so the fists grip them.

Step 10: Counter and ground

Draw a long counter box across at tummy height. From each end, a line down to the ground line.

Step 11: Ice cream tubs

On the counter draw 3 box tubs with curved lids, 2 on the left and 1 on the right.

Step 12: Peach skin

Colour the face around the cheeks, the neck and the fists peach. Leave the eyes, shirt, hat and scoop white.

Step 13: Yellow and pink

Colour the second tub yellow. Colour the cheeks, apron, top scoop and last tub pink.

Step 14: Tan cone and counter

Colour the cone and the counter tan.

Step 15: Red and brown

Colour the bow tie and hat band red. Colour the hair, bottom scoop and first tub brown.
