How to Draw a Hut
Draw a hut in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pointy roof.
Step 1: The pointy roof
Near the top draw a tall pointy roof like a wizard's hat, with a row of bumps along the bottom.
Tip The bumpy fringe is straw hanging over the edge.
Step 2: The round walls
Start under the fringe on the left. Draw the wall down, and back up to the fringe.
Step 3: The door
In the middle of the wall draw a tall door with a rounded top. Add 2 plank lines down it.
Step 4: The ground
Draw the ground line from each bottom corner out to the edge of the paper.
Step 5: Round windows
On each side of the door draw a round window with a plus sign inside.
Step 6: Straw rows
Across the middle of the roof draw a row of bumps, then 4 straw lines from them to the fringe.
Step 7: The top knot
Start on the point of the roof. Draw a short stick straight up, stop, and put a ball on top.
Step 8: A band
Draw 1 line across the walls below the windows, from the left wall to the right wall, skipping the door.
Step 9: Pot and bush
Left, draw an oval rim and a round pot belly from it down to the ground. Right, a bumpy bush.
Step 10: Sky windows, sandy walls
Colour the windows sky blue and the walls sand, around the windows and the door.
Step 11: Straw roof, wooden door
Colour the roof and the top knot tan like dry straw, and the door wood brown.
Step 12: Green bush, brown pot
Colour the bush green and the pot brown. Go over your lines and your hut is done!
