How to Draw Hummus
Draw hummus in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Below the middle draw a wide flat oval for the top of the bowl, about a hand wide.
Step 2: The bowl
From the oval's left end draw a wide shallow U under it, up to the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Under the bowl draw a short foot: start on the bottom left, dip down, across, up to the bottom right.
Step 4: Low swell
Start at the rim's left end, curve a low swell over to its right end. Rub out the rim inside it.
Tip It's only a little higher than the rim.
Step 5: A swirl
On the hummus draw a curly swirl, like a spoon dragged round: start left, loop round, stop near the start.
Step 6: Pool of oil
Inside the swirl draw a small wobbly oval for a pool of olive oil.
Step 7: Chickpeas
On the right of the hummus draw 3 round chickpeas in a loose slanted row.
Step 8: Pita and parsley
Draw a soft pita wedge standing in the hummus on the right, and a 3-leaf parsley sprig on the left.
Step 9: Stripes
Under the rim draw 2 bowed stripes across the bowl, each from its left side to its right side.
Step 10: The table
Start near the left edge. Draw a long table line under the foot and stop near the right edge.
Step 11: Cream hummus, yellow oil
Go over your lines, then colour the hummus cream around the toppings, and the oil yellow.
Step 12: Tan pita, red paprika
Colour the pita wedge and the chickpeas tan, and add 3 tiny red paprika dots on the hummus.
Step 13: Green parsley, white bowl
Colour the parsley leaves green and the bowl white around the band.
Step 14: Teal band
Colour the band between the 2 lines teal, and your hummus is done!
