How to Draw a Hummingbird Feeder
Draw a hummingbird feeder in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bottle.
Step 1: The bottle
Left of the middle draw a tall bottle: round top corners, straight sides and a short neck at the bottom.
Tip Leave room above for the branch and below for the saucer.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
In the middle of the bottle draw 2 big egg eyes, a little apart. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The nectar line
Start on the bottle's left side, above the eyes. Draw a wavy line across and stop on the right side.
Step 5: The saucer
Under the bottle draw a wide round saucer, sticking out past the bottle on both sides.
Tip The bottle's neck tucks into the top of the saucer.
Step 6: 3 flowers
On the front of the saucer draw 3 little flowers in a row, each with 5 petals and a dot.
Tip These are where the hummingbirds drink.
Step 7: Branch and hanger
Draw a bendy branch with a twig above the bottle. Add a cap, then a wire loop over the branch.
Tip Make the branch thick at the left end and thin at the right.
Step 8: Hummingbird head
Right of the saucer draw a small round head with a big eye. Add a needle beak touching a flower.
Step 9: Body and tail
From the back of the head draw a teardrop body pointing down-right. End it with a forked tail.
Step 10: Wings in a V
From the back draw a pointed wing standing up, with 3 feather bumps. Add a thinner wing peeking behind it.
Step 11: Yellow flowers, pink cheeks
Colour the 3 flowers and the cap yellow. Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Light blue glass
Colour the glass above the nectar line light blue.
Step 13: Red nectar and saucer
Colour the nectar and the saucer red, going around the cheeks and flowers. Leave the eyes white.
Step 14: Green bird, brown branch
Colour the bird green, leaving its eye white. Colour the beak black and the branch brown. Your feeder is ready!
