How to Draw Edamame Pods
Draw edamame pods in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bowl.
Step 1: The bowl
Draw a wide bowl: a deep smile for the top edge and a round bottom. Add a foot.
Tip Edamame are soybeans in their fuzzy green pods.
Step 2: The rim
Start at the bowl's left tip. Draw a big curve over the top and stop at the right tip.
Step 3: The front pod
Inside the bowl, near the front, draw a long pod: 3 bumps on top, a smooth curve underneath, pointy ends.
Tip Each bump is a bean inside the pod.
Step 4: Two more pods
Behind it draw 2 more bumpy pods, one leaning each way. Their far tips reach the rim.
Step 5: A pod on top
Draw one more bumpy pod across the back of the heap, poking up over the rim.
Step 6: An open pod
Right of the bowl draw half a pod on the table: a little boat with pointy ends.
Step 7: Three beans
Draw 3 round beans sitting in a row in the boat.
Step 8: Back of the pod
Start at one tip of the boat. Draw 3 bumps over the beans and stop at the other tip.
Step 9: The table
Draw the table line under the bowl's foot and the open pod, from far left to far right.
Step 10: Light green beans
Colour the 3 beans in the open pod light green.
Step 11: Green pods
Go over your lines. Colour all the pods green, around the light green beans.
Step 12: Blue bowl
Colour the bowl and its foot blue. Colour inside the rim light blue, around the pods.
