How to Draw a Hospital Room

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a hospital room in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two end boards.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two end boards

Left of the middle, draw a tall thin board with a round top. Far right, draw a shorter one.

Tip Leave room on the left for the drip stand.

  2. Step 2: The bed frame

Just below the middle of the boards, join them with a long thin bar.

Tip Keep the bar flat and level.

  3. Step 3: Bent mattress

On the bar, draw a thick mattress. Near the left, bend it up towards the tall board.

Tip The raised end helps you sit up in bed.

  4. Step 4: Puffy pillow

On the raised end, draw a puffy pillow that leans back with the mattress.

  5. Step 5: The blanket

Over the flat end, draw a blanket hanging down to a wavy hem. Add a fold line under its top.

Tip Rub out the mattress and bar lines under the blanket.

  6. Step 6: A cross

In the middle of the blanket, below the fold line, draw a plus-shaped cross.

Tip A cross is the sign for a hospital.

  7. Step 7: Side rail

Start on the blanket top. Draw an upside-down U rail and stop on the blanket. Add 2 bars inside.

  8. Step 8: Wheels and floor

Under each board, draw a round wheel with a small circle inside. Draw a long floor line under them.

  9. Step 9: Drip stand

Far left, draw a flat foot on 2 tiny wheels. From its middle, draw a pole up to a hook.

Tip Give the foot 2 tiny wheels that touch the floor.

  10. Step 10: Drip bag

Hang a bag from the hook. From its bottom, draw a thin tube curving down to the tall board.

  11. Step 11: Heart monitor

High on the wall, draw a box with soft corners and a screen inside. Zigzag a heartbeat line across it.

Tip Start and stop the heartbeat line on the screen's edges.

  12. Step 12: Cream and sky blue

Colour the mattress cream, the 2 boards and the drip bag sky blue. Leave the pillow, fold and cross white.

  13. Step 13: Green screen, grey frames

Colour the screen light green and its frame grey. Colour the bed bar and the wheel middles grey too.

  14. Step 14: Teal blanket, dark wheels

Colour the blanket teal around the cross. Colour all 4 wheels dark grey, around the grey middles. Get well soon!
