How to Draw a Hoe
Draw a hoe in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the blade.
Step 1: The blade
Below the middle on the left draw the blade: a long flat box, a bit wider at the bottom.
Tip Keep it low and wide, like a brick lying on its side.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the blade draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The bent neck
From the middle of the blade's top draw a thin neck bending up to the right, with a wider end.
Step 5: The slanted handle
From the neck's wide end draw 2 straight lines side by side up to the right, then join their tops.
Tip The handle leans like a slide: low by the blade, high on the right.
Step 6: Wood grain
On the handle draw 2 short grain lines leaning the same way, one near each end.
Step 7: Ground and soil clods
Draw the ground line from left to right, with 3 lumpy soil bumps starting and ending on the ground.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 2 little sparkle stars, one above the blade on the left and one to the right of the handle.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Grey blade, wood handle
Colour the blade and neck grey around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white, and the handle wood brown.
Step 11: Brown soil
Colour the 3 soil clods brown. Your garden hoe is ready to weed!
