How to Draw a Highland Cow
Draw a Highland cow in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big square head.
Step 1: Big square head
Near the top left, draw a big rounded square head. Leave room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big oval eyes with shines. Under them, draw a big egg nose with nostrils and a smile.
Step 3: Shaggy fringe
Across the top of the head, draw a shaggy fringe of round bumps, hanging a little past each side.
Step 4: Horns and ears
From each side of the fringe, draw a horn curving out, then up. Add a leaf ear below each.
Step 5: The neck
Draw the neck from behind the head down to the body, and the front from the chin to the chest.
Tip The neck gets wider toward the body.
Step 6: Shaggy body
Start at the neck. Draw a long back, a round bottom, then soft round hair tufts back to the chest.
Step 7: Two legs
Draw a ground line. Start on the chest and draw a leg down to a hoof. Add the back leg.
Step 8: Far legs
Start on the tummy behind the front leg. Draw a thinner leg down to a hoof. Do both legs.
Tip Only draw the parts you can see.
Step 9: The tail
Start on the top corner of the bottom. Draw a thin tail hanging down into a teardrop tuft.
Step 10: Cream and peach
Colour the horns cream. Colour the nose and the ear insides peach.
Step 11: Colour it ginger
Colour the head, ears, hair, body, legs and tail ginger around them. Keep the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey hooves
Colour the hooves grey.
