How to Draw a Hedgehog in Leaves
Draw a hedgehog in leaves in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pointy face.
Step 1: Pointy face
In the middle draw a wide face that narrows to a soft point at the chin.
Tip Leave lots of room all round for the spikes and the leaves.
Step 2: Friendly face
Draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots. Add a black oval nose near the chin and a W smile.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 3: Pile of leaves
Draw a long ground line. On it draw a wide heap with 6 bumps, passing just under the chin.
Tip The hedgehog's body hides inside the heap.
Step 4: Front paws
On top of the pile draw 2 small oval paws, one under each cheek. Add 2 toe lines to each.
Step 5: Spiky coat
Start on the pile, left of the face. Draw pointy spikes up and over the head. Stop on the pile.
Tip Every spike points away from the face, like sun rays.
Step 6: Ears and quills
Draw a small round ear on each side of the face. Above the face draw 3 short lines.
Step 7: Leaf on top
On the top spikes draw a pointed leaf with a line down its middle.
Tip Rub out the spike tips inside the leaf.
Step 8: Leaves behind
Draw a pointed leaf poking up behind each end of the pile. Give each a middle line.
Step 9: Leaves in front
On the pile draw 2 leaves with 5 points and one long pointed leaf. Give each a middle line.
Step 10: Pink and yellow
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the leaf on top, the right leaf and the long front leaf yellow.
Step 11: Tan and orange
Colour the face, ears and paws tan, around the cheeks. Colour the pile orange, around its leaves.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red and brown
Colour the last 3 leaves red. Colour the spiky coat brown. Your hedgehog in leaves is done!
