How to Draw a Bird’s Nest with Eggs
Draw a bird’s nest with eggs in 9 easy steps, about 7 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bowl.
Step 1: The bowl
In the middle, start on the left. Draw a big bumpy U down and round, back up to the right.
Tip A nest bowl is wider than it is deep.
Step 2: The rim
Across the top of the U draw a flat bumpy oval for the rim, its ends on the U's ends.
Step 3: Three eggs
In the rim draw 3 eggs: a tall one in the middle and a smaller one each side, leaning out.
Step 4: Speckles
On each egg dot 3 tiny solid speckles, spread out.
Step 5: Twigs
Inside the bowl draw 5 twig lines in 2 rows, ends crossing, stopping inside the edge. Flick out 3 twigs.
Step 6: The branch
Under the nest draw a bendy branch, thick on the left, thinning to a point on the right.
Step 7: Leaves
Grow 4 pointy leaves off the branch: 3 pointing up and one hanging down, each starting on the branch.
Step 8: Sky-blue eggs, green leaves
Colour the 3 eggs sky blue, going around the speckles, and the leaves green.
Step 9: Wood nest
Go over your lines, then colour the nest, its twigs and the branch wood brown, going around the eggs.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a bird’s nest with eggs, drawn by you.
