How to Draw a Heart Cake

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a heart cake in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the heart top.

Print

  1. Step 1: The heart top

A little above the middle draw a wide flat heart, much wider than tall, for the top of the cake.

Tip Squash the heart flat, like looking down at it.

  2. Step 2: The wall

Start at the left point. Go down a thumb, copy the heart's bottom edge, then up to the right point.

Tip The wall is the front of the cake, just lower.

  3. Step 3: Icing drips

Start at the left point. Draw fat U drips along the edge, round the bottom, up to the right point.

  4. Step 4: A cherry

Draw a round cherry on top of the cake, just below the dip.

  5. Step 5: Stem and leaf

From the top of the cherry draw a short stem curving up to a little leaf with a middle line.

  6. Step 6: Confetti

On the wall of the cake draw 4 little round sprinkles below the drips, all at different heights.

  7. Step 7: A plate

Draw a wide flat oval plate behind and under the cake, skipping the part hidden behind it.

  8. Step 8: Pink top and drips

Go over your lines, then colour the cake top and the drips pink, going around the cherry and leaf.

  9. Step 9: Tan cake

Colour the wall of the cake tan under the drips, going around the confetti.

  10. Step 10: Sky plate, yellow confetti

Colour the plate sky blue around the cake, and the confetti yellow.

  11. Step 11: Red cherry, green leaf

Colour the cherry red, leaving a white shine, and the stem and leaf green. Your heart cake is ready!
