How to Draw a Hallway
Draw a hallway in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a big box.
Step 1: A big box
Draw a big box that nearly fills your page, a bit taller than it is wide.
Tip This box is the near end of the hallway, where you stand.
Step 2: The far wall
In the very middle of the big box draw a small box the same shape.
Tip Far away things look small, so the far wall is a little box.
Step 3: Four corner lines
Start at each corner of the big box. Draw a straight line in, stopping at the small box's nearest corner.
Tip Now you can see a floor, a ceiling and 2 side walls.
Step 4: The end door
Start on the far wall's bottom line. Draw a door up, across and down, stopping on the same line.
Step 5: Side doors
Start on each side wall's floor line. Draw a tall door: up, slanting across, down. Stop on the floor line.
Tip The top of each door slants the same way as the ceiling line above it.
Step 6: Door knobs
Draw a small round knob on each of the 3 doors, about half way up.
Step 7: A long rug
On the floor draw a long rug: wide at the front, narrow at the back. Add a smaller one inside.
Tip The rug gets narrower as it goes away from you.
Step 8: The ceiling light
In the middle of the ceiling draw a short flat line with a round bowl under it.
Step 9: Yellow light
Go over your lines. Colour the ceiling light and the 3 door knobs yellow.
Step 10: Blue walls
Colour the 2 side walls and the far wall light blue around the doors. Leave the ceiling white.
Step 11: Red rug
Colour the long rug red.
Step 12: Wood floor
Colour the floor light brown around the rug.
Step 13: Brown doors
Colour the 3 doors dark brown around their knobs. Your hallway is done!
Tip Press a little harder on the doors so they come out darker than the floor.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a hallway, drawn by you.
