How to Draw a Hair Clip
Draw a hair clip in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the clip shape.
Step 1: The clip shape
Draw a long triangle lying on its side: tall and rounded on the left, a small round tip on the right.
Tip Make it about twice as long as it is tall.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the wide end draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, and a small flat oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 4: The window
Start right of the face. Draw a smaller triangle the same shape. Stop just under your start, leaving a gap.
Tip Keep an even rim all the way round.
Step 5: The snap bar
Start at the top of the gap. Draw a thin finger pointing right. Stop at the bottom of the gap.
Step 6: Shine
Draw a short curve near the top left corner of the clip for a shine.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 3 little sparkles in the air around the clip, each a star with 4 points.
Step 8: Yellow sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 sparkles yellow.
Step 9: Red cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks red, pressing softly.
Step 10: Pink clip
Colour the clip and its bar pink, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes and the gaps white.
