How to Draw a Groundhog Hole
Draw a groundhog hole in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.
Step 1: Wide head
Near the top of your paper, draw a wide head as wide as your palm, with fat cheeks.
Tip Leave plenty of room under it: the body is bigger than the head.
Step 2: Ears, snout and nose
Draw a small round ear on each top corner. Low on the face, draw a wide snout and black nose.
Step 3: Eyes, smile and teeth
Draw 2 eyes above the snout. From the nose, draw a line down to a w smile. Add buck teeth.
Step 4: Whiskers
Draw 2 short whiskers on each side. Start on the snout and stop before the edge of the head.
Step 5: Big round body
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big pear body, wide at the tummy, and stop under the right cheek.
Tip Make the body taller and a bit wider than the head.
Step 6: Left arm and paw
Start on the left under the cheek. Draw an arm sloping in to a mitten paw, back to the body.
Step 7: Right arm and paw
Start on the right side under the cheek. Draw the other arm the same way, paws side by side.
Step 8: Hole and dirt mound
Across the tummy, draw the front of the hole. From its ends, curve a mound down to a ground line.
Tip Only draw the back of the hole where it peeks out beside the body.
Step 9: Cream snout, sandy dirt
Colour the snout cream, leaving the 2 buck teeth white. Colour the dirt mound sandy.
Step 10: Tan body, brown fur
Colour the body light tan. Colour the head, ears, arms and paws brown around the snout, leaving the eyes white.
Step 11: Dark hole
Colour the hole black on each side of the groundhog, around the tan body and the sandy mound.
