How to Draw a Greek Key
Draw a Greek key in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long box.
Step 1: The long box
Across the middle of your paper draw a long box, twice as wide as it is tall.
Tip A Greek key is one line that keeps turning square corners. Use a ruler if you like.
Step 2: Two stripes
Near the top, start on the left edge and draw across. Stop on the right edge. Repeat near the bottom.
Step 3: Up and over
Start on the left edge, a little above the bottom stripe. Go right a little, up, then right. Stop.
Tip Leave the same gap under the top stripe as above the bottom stripe.
Step 4: The hook
Start where you stopped. Go halfway down, back left halfway, down again, then right twice as far. Stop.
Step 5: Second key
Start where you stopped and do it all again: up, right, down, left, down, right. Stop.
Tip Keep every gap as wide as the first one.
Step 6: Third key
Start there and draw one more key the same way. Stop on the right edge of the box.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 2 sparkle stars above the box and 2 below it.
Step 8: Yellow hooks
Go over your lines. Colour under your key line yellow, up into the 3 hooks. Colour the sparkles yellow too.
Step 9: Orange stripes
Colour the thin stripe along the top and the thin stripe along the bottom orange.
Step 10: Blue hooks
Colour the path above your key line blue, down into its hooks. Your Greek key is done!

Your finished drawing
