How to Draw a Goby
Draw a goby in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: blunt head, long body.
Step 1: Blunt head, long body
Draw a pout on the left. From its top, draw a long body and tail stalk, back to its bottom.
Step 2: Huge eye and smile
Draw a huge eye behind the pout with a dot and shine. Smile from the pout to under the eye.
Tip Gobies have big goggle eyes high on the head.
Step 3: Round tail
Start at the top of the tail stalk. Draw a round fan up, back and down to the stalk bottom.
Step 4: Round fan fin
Behind the eye, start on the back. Draw a small round fan fin up, over and down to the back.
Step 5: Long low fin
Behind the fan, start on the back and draw a long low fin, ending on the back before the tail.
Step 6: Gill and side fin
Behind the eye draw a C gill. Under it draw a big fan fin from the body to the sand.
Step 7: Dark bars
Just under the back, toward the tail, draw 3 short soft bars that reach half way down.
Step 8: Bubbles
In front of the lips draw 3 bubbles floating up: small, bigger, biggest.
Step 9: Sand and seaweed
Draw a wavy sand line from edge to edge. On the left draw 2 tall wavy seaweed ribbons.
Step 10: Blue bubbles, sandy floor
Colour the bubbles light blue. Colour the sand under the wavy line sandy, around the seaweed.
Step 11: Tan goby
Colour the body and lips tan, around the side fin and the bars. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Orange fins, green seaweed
Colour the tail and all the fins orange. Colour the seaweed green.
Step 13: Brown bars
Colour the 3 bars brown. Your goby is done!
