How to Draw a Gnome
Draw a gnome in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big head, wider than tall, like an egg on its side.
Tip The head is almost half of the whole gnome.
Step 2: Pointy hat
Draw a rainbow brim across the head, a third of the way down. From it, draw a tall pointy cone.
Tip Rub out the head line above the brim.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the middle of the head, draw 2 big eyes close together, with a big black dot and shine.
Step 4: Ball nose
Under the eyes, in the middle, draw a round ball nose a little bigger than an eye.
Step 5: Big bushy beard
From cheek to cheek, draw a big beard: a wide M under the nose, a big U over the chest.
Step 6: Round belly
Under the cheeks, draw a big pear body, widest low down, with a round bottom.
Tip The body is narrower than the head, like a pear tucked under the chin.
Step 7: Arms and mittens
From each side of the beard, draw a sausage arm bending in to a round mitten with a thumb.
Step 8: Legs and boots
Halfway down the body, draw a C leg on each side, with a fat boot under it, toe pointing out.
Step 9: Soles and ground
Draw a sole line across each boot, a little above the ground. Then draw a ground line under both boots.
Step 10: Peach face, red hat
Colour the face and nose peach, and the hat, brim and mittens red. Leave the eyes and beard white.
Step 11: Blue coat, brown boots
Go over your lines. Colour the coat, arms and legs blue around the mittens, and both boots brown.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a gnome, drawn by you.
