How to Draw a Dinosaur Egg
Draw a dinosaur egg in 9 easy steps, about 7 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the egg.
Step 1: The egg
Near the top of your paper draw a big egg, narrower at the top and fatter at the bottom.
Tip Leave a little room underneath for the nest.
Step 2: Big spots
Draw 5 big round spots on the egg: 2 near the top, 1 each side, 1 low down.
Tip Keep the spots away from where the eyes will go.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the egg draw 2 big round eyes a finger apart. Add a black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a big happy U smile under the eyes, from one eye to the other. Add 2 cheeks.
Step 5: A crack
On the right side, start on the edge and draw a big zigzag crack going in, like a lightning bolt.
Tip The crack means something is about to hatch.
Step 6: A shine
On the upper left draw a short curved line just inside the edge, from high down to the eye.
Step 7: Twig nest
Under the egg draw a bowl nest. Add 3 weave lines, 4 twigs on the rim and a ground line.
Step 8: Sand egg, pink cheeks
Colour the egg sand, around the spots and cheeks. Colour the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 9: Spots and nest
Colour every spot green. Colour the nest brown.
