How to Draw a Generator
Draw a generator in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big box.
Step 1: The big box
Draw a big box with round corners, wider than tall. Leave room below for wheels.
Tip Make the top corners rounder than the bottom ones.
Step 2: The fuel tank
Start on the left edge, a third of the way down. Draw a line across. Stop on the right edge.
Step 3: The cap
Start on the top edge, left of the middle. Draw a little flat bump and stop back on the edge.
Step 4: The frame
Under the line draw a big U, a finger inside the box edge. Start and stop on the line.
Tip Round the 2 bottom corners of the U.
Step 5: Lightning bolt
In the middle of the tank draw a zigzag lightning bolt, down to a point and back up.
Step 6: Control panel
Inside the U, on the right, draw a box for the control panel.
Step 7: Socket and switch
In the panel draw a circle with 2 short lines for a socket. Beside it draw a tall switch.
Step 8: Air vents
Inside the U, on the left, draw 3 long thin slots, one under the other.
Tip Give each slot round ends, like a sausage.
Step 9: Two wheels
At each bottom corner draw a round wheel, half below the box, with a small circle in the middle.
Tip Rub out the box line inside each wheel.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a ground line under the wheels, from side to side.
Step 11: Yellow bolt
Colour the lightning bolt, the socket and the switch yellow.
Step 12: Red tank, grey engine
Colour the tank red around the bolt. Colour the middle and wheel centres grey, around the socket and switch.
Step 13: Dark frame and tyres
Colour the frame and the cap dark grey and the tyres black. Your generator is ready!
