How to Draw a Gas Station
Draw a gas station in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the canopy.
Step 1: The canopy
Start near the top left. Draw a long, flat box across nearly the whole page. That's the canopy.
Tip The canopy is a big roof on posts so you stay dry.
Step 2: 2 posts
From under each end of the canopy draw a tall post straight down to the ground: 2 lines close together.
Step 3: The sign
Start on the canopy's middle. Draw a sign box up, across and down to the canopy. Add a circle.
Step 4: The pump
Draw a tall pump box under the canopy, then a round cap from one top corner, stopping on the other.
Tip The pump stands a little above where the ground will be.
Step 5: Screen and nozzle
Draw a screen. Start on the pump's right side, draw a nozzle with a spout, stop on the side.
Step 6: Hose and stripe
From the nozzle's spout draw a curvy hose down, stopping on the pump near the bottom. Add a stripe across.
Step 7: A second pump
Draw a second, shorter pump on the right like the first, from its cap down to its nozzle and hose.
Step 8: Ground and island
Draw the ground line edge to edge. Start on it, draw a low island under both pumps, stop on it.
Step 9: A cloud
In the top right draw a small puffy cloud: 4 bumps up and over, then 2 shallow bumps underneath.
Step 10: Yellow and sky
Colour the circle on the sign yellow and the screens sky blue.
Step 11: Grey pumps and posts
Colour the island stone grey. Colour the pumps, nozzles and posts grey, going around the screens.
Step 12: Red canopy, blue tops
Colour the canopy and sign red around the circle, and the pump tops blue. Your gas station is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a gas station, drawn by you.
