How to Draw Frost on a Window
Draw frost on a window in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the window frame.
Step 1: The window frame
Draw a big square for the window frame, filling most of your paper, and a second square just inside it.
Step 2: The cross bars
Draw a thin bar down the middle of the window and a thin bar across the middle, making 4 panes.
Step 3: The sill
Under the window draw a long flat box for the sill, poking out a little on both sides.
Step 4: Frost bottom left
In the lower left corner, draw a bumpy rainbow from edge to edge, then a smaller one inside it.
Tip Frost grows in from the cold edges of the glass.
Step 5: Frost bottom right
In the lower right corner, draw a bumpy rainbow from edge to edge, then a smaller one inside it.
Step 6: Frost top left
In the upper left corner, draw a smaller bumpy rainbow from edge to edge, and one inside it.
Step 7: Frost top right
In the upper right corner, draw a smaller bumpy rainbow from edge to edge, and one inside it.
Step 8: White frost
Colour the frost in every corner white.
Step 9: Sky glass
Colour the 4 panes sky blue, around the white frost.
Step 10: Wooden frame
Colour the frame, cross bars and sill wood brown, around the blue glass. Your frosty window is done!
