How to Draw a Foxglove
Draw a foxglove in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall stalk.
Step 1: Tall stalk
Start at the bottom middle. Draw a very tall stalk of 2 lines, a little thinner at the top.
Step 2: First bell
Right of the stalk, below the middle, draw a bell hanging down and out with a round open mouth.
Tip Like a little sock with a wide open mouth.
Step 3: Bell on the left
A little higher, on the left side, draw another bell hanging down and out, nearly as big.
Step 4: More bells
Keep going up the stalk, left and right in turn, each bell a little smaller than the one below.
Step 5: Top bells
Near the top draw 2 more small bells. Finish with 3 closed buds, like little pointed ovals, at the tip.
Step 6: Open mouths
In each bell, draw a curve from one corner of the mouth to the other, bending back inside.
Step 7: Spots
Inside the 3 biggest bells dot 3 little spots in a row, a little way back from the mouth.
Step 8: More spots
Dot 3 spots in the next 2 bells up the same way.
Step 9: Big leaves
From the bottom of the stalk draw a big fat leaf out to the left and another to the right.
Step 10: Ground and grass
Draw a soft sagging ground line across the bottom. Flick 2 little grass blades up past each leaf tip.
Step 11: Pink bells
Go over your lines. Colour every bell and bud pink, around the red spots.
Step 12: Green stalk and leaves
Colour the stalk and both leaves leaf green, and your foxglove is done!
