How to Draw a Fox with Cubs

Draw a fox with cubs in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: mum's head.

Step 1: Mum's head
Left of the middle draw a wide head with a fur tuft on each cheek and a pointy chin.
Tip Leave room on both sides for the cubs.
Step 2: Tall ears
On each top corner of the head draw a tall pointed ear leaning out.
Tip Each ear is half as tall as the head.
Step 3: Mum's eyes
Halfway down the head draw 2 round eyes. Put a big black dot in each.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Under the eyes draw a long teardrop snout past the chin. Add a black nose and a w smile.
Tip Keep a gap under the eyes. Rub out the chin inside the snout.
Step 5: Mum's body
Rule the ground. From under each cheek draw a side down, then bulging out to the ground.
Tip The body is narrow at the chest and wide at the bottom, like a bell.
Step 6: Bib and front legs
Draw a U bib under the chin. From each side draw a leg down to a paw and back up.
Tip Each paw is wider than its leg. Add 2 toe lines on each.
Step 7: Bushy tail
From her right side draw a fat tail up to a soft point and down to the ground.
Tip Draw a line across the tail near the top, for its white tip.
Step 8: Two cub heads
On each side, low down, draw a small wide head with fluffy cheeks. Give each 2 short ears.
Tip A cub's head is half as wide as mum's.
Step 9: Cub faces
Give each cub 2 black dot eyes, a small oval snout, a black nose and a smile.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 10: Cub bodies
Under each small head draw a pear body down to the ground, with a line up the middle.
Tip The line makes 2 front legs.
Step 11: Cub tails
On the outside of each cub draw a small fat tail standing up. Draw a line across it.
Tip Rub out the body line inside each tail.
Step 12: White bits
With a white crayon colour all 3 snouts, all 3 tail tips and mum's bib.
Tip Leave mum's eyes white too.
Step 13: Light orange cubs
Colour both cubs light orange, around their white parts.
Step 14: Orange mum
Colour mum orange, around her white parts and eyes. Colour her ear tips black last.
