How to Draw a Football Player
Draw a football player in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a bit narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 small dot eyes. Add a tiny U nose and a smile below.
Step 3: Helmet
Draw a helmet over the head: a round dome that runs down into a cheek guard on each side.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the helmet.
Step 4: Face mask
Draw 2 mask curves from the left cheek guard to the right one: one over the chin, one under it.
Step 5: Neck and jersey
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a round-shouldered jersey, ending at the right one. Add an 8.
Step 6: Hanging arm
From the left sleeve draw an arm hanging down, thinner at the wrist, ending in a mitten with a thumb.
Step 7: Bent arm
From the right sleeve draw an arm down to the elbow, then in across the tummy to a mitten.
Tip Rub out the jersey line inside the arm.
Step 8: Football
Rest a football on the bent arm: a pointed oval tucked behind the arm. Add a lace with 3 ticks.
Tip Rub out the jersey line inside the ball.
Step 9: Short trousers
Start at the jersey's left corner. Draw round hips and 2 trouser legs with cuffs. End at the right corner.
Step 10: Legs, cleats and ground
From each cuff draw 2 leg lines, closer at the ankle. Stop low. Add round-toed cleats and a ground line.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue helmet and jersey
Colour the helmet and the jersey blue, around the face, the arms, the ball and the number.
Step 13: White trousers, brown ball
Leave the trousers white. Colour the ball brown and the cleats black. Your football player is done!
