How to Draw a Focaccia
Draw a focaccia in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: plate and table.
Step 1: Plate and table
Draw a big flat oval plate in the middle. Add a table line under it, wider than the plate.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second oval a finger inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: The bread
In the middle of the plate draw a long box with soft corners that fills most of the rim.
Tip Focaccia is a flat Italian bread with dimples pressed into the top.
Step 4: The thick side
Start at the bottom left corner. Go down a little, along under the bread, and up to the bottom right.
Step 5: Dimples
On the bread draw 6 small tilted ovals of different sizes, scattered about, for the finger dimples.
Step 6: Olives
Draw 3 olive ovals, each with a small round hole, slanting from top left to bottom right.
Step 7: Rosemary
Draw 2 rosemary sprigs, each a short stem with 2 pairs of pointy leaves, one bottom left, one top right.
Step 8: Sand and sky
Go over your lines. Colour the dimples and olive holes sand, and the plate sky blue, around the bread.
Step 9: Tan bread
Colour the top of the bread tan, going around the dimples, olives and rosemary.
Step 10: Green rosemary, brown side
Colour the rosemary leaves green and the thick side brown.
Step 11: Black olives
Colour the olives black, going around their holes. Your focaccia is ready to eat!
