How to Draw a Flan
Draw a flan in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.
Step 1: The top
A little above the middle, draw a wide flat oval, about a hand across, for the top of the flan.
Step 2: The sides
Start at the oval's left end. Slope down and out, round the bottom corners, and up to the right end.
Tip Keep the sides straight, wider at the bottom than the top.
Step 3: Caramel running down
Start on the left side, just under the top. Draw soft waves across the front to the right side.
Tip Make the waves soft and uneven, some low and some high.
Step 4: A shine
On the top, left of the middle, draw a little curved banana shape for a shine.
Step 5: A cherry
On the top, right of the middle, draw a round cherry over the back edge, with a short curved stem.
Tip Rub out the back edge of the top where the cherry covers it.
Step 6: The caramel pool
Round the bottom of the flan, draw a wide flat puddle shape for the caramel pool.
Step 7: A plate
Draw a long flat oval plate behind the flan and its pool, passing just under them.
Step 8: The table
Draw a long line under the plate, just touching its bottom.
Step 9: Yellow flan, blue plate
Colour the sides of the flan yellow, below the caramel waves, and the plate sky blue.
Step 10: Caramel top and drips
Colour the top oval, the caramel waves and the pool ginger, around the cherry. Leave the shine white.
Step 11: A red cherry
Colour the cherry red, and your flan is done!
