How to Draw a Lawn Mower
Draw a lawn mower in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the deck.
Step 1: The deck
Below the middle, draw a long low dome with a flat bottom, 4 times as wide as it is tall.
Tip Keep it low: a mower hugs the grass.
Step 2: Two small wheels
At each end of the deck, draw a small wheel over the bottom edge. Add a hub circle in each.
Step 3: The engine
On the middle of the deck, draw a short engine block with soft corners, half as wide as the deck.
Step 4: The handle
Start at the back of the deck. Draw a long pole slanting up to the right, far above the engine.
Step 5: The grip bar
Across the top end of the pole, draw a short fat bar for your hands to hold.
Step 6: The cap
On top of the engine, near the front, draw a small cap with a flat top.
Step 7: Pull cord
Start at the back of the engine, draw a cord and stop on the pole. Add a little grip there.
Step 8: The ground
Start left of the front wheel. Draw a straight line under both wheels and stop past the handle.
Step 9: Grass tufts
On the ground behind the mower, draw 2 little tufts of 3 soft grass blades, away from the wheels.
Step 10: Green grass
Colour the grass tufts green.
Step 11: Red deck
Colour the deck red.
Step 12: Slate engine and handle
Colour the engine and the long pole slate grey.
Step 13: Black wheels
Go over your lines. Colour the hubs grey, the wheels black around them, and the cap and both grips black.
