How to Draw a Fiddler Crab
Draw a fiddler crab in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the shell.
Step 1: The shell
A little below the middle, draw a wide dome shell, much wider than tall, a little pointy at each side.
Tip Like a loaf of bread with a soft point at each end.
Step 2: Eyes on stalks
From the top of the shell, draw 2 tall thin stalks going up, with a big round eye on each.
Step 3: One giant claw
From the shell's right side, draw an arm with a HUGE open claw. Add a tiny claw on the left.
Tip It waves the big claw like a violin bow.
Step 4: Happy face
In the middle of the shell, under the stalks, draw a wide smile with a round cheek at each end.
Step 5: The mud
Draw 1 straight line right across the paper under the shell for the mud.
Step 6: Top legs
From each pointy side of the shell, draw a leg bending out, then down to a point on the mud.
Step 7: Six more legs
Under each top leg, draw 3 more pointy legs, each a bit shorter, so 4 tips stand on the mud.
Step 8: The burrow
On the mud line to the right, draw a low hump with a little arch doorway in it.
Tip Fiddler crabs hide in a burrow when a bird comes.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Orange crab
Colour the shell, stalks, arms, claws and legs orange, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Muddy ground
Colour the mud and the burrow brown, right down to the bottom. Colour the doorway black.
