How to Draw a Face Painting
Draw a face painting in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big soft egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Make it about half the page tall.
Step 2: Two ears
Halfway down each side of the head, draw a C ear. Add a small C inside each.
Tip Ears on the sides show this is a child, not a tiger.
Step 3: Big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes. Put a black dot in each.
Step 4: Tiger nose and smile
Below the eyes, draw a small rounded triangle nose. Draw a line down from it to a wide smile.
Tip The nose is painted on, so it gets coloured black later.
Step 5: Mouth patch and whiskers
Round the nose and smile, draw a wide bean shape. Draw 2 whiskers out from each side of it.
Tip Keep the whiskers inside the face.
Step 6: Paint edge
Start on each cheek edge, level with the smile. Draw a curve dipping in, and stop at the mouth patch.
Tip Below this line the chin has no paint on it.
Step 7: Curly hair
Start above the left ear. Draw 5 soft curls up over the head. Stop above the right ear.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the hair.
Step 8: Fringe
Start at the hair's right end. Draw a gentle curve across the forehead. Stop at the hair's left end.
Tip Leave room under the fringe for the stripes.
Step 9: Forehead stripes
Hanging down from the fringe, draw 3 pointed stripes. Make the middle one longest.
Tip Each stripe starts and stops on the fringe line.
Step 10: Cheek stripes
On each cheek edge, beside the eye, draw 2 pointed stripes, with their points towards the nose.
Step 11: Neck and top
Under the chin, draw 2 short neck lines and a U collar. Slope a shoulder out and down each side.
Step 12: Peach skin, yellow hair
Colour the ears, the chin below the paint edge and the neck peach. Colour the hair yellow.
Step 13: Orange tiger paint
Colour the forehead and cheeks orange, around the stripes. Leave the eyes and the mouth patch white.
Step 14: Green top, black stripes
Colour the top green. Colour all 7 stripes and the nose black. Your face painting is done.
