How to Draw a Hippie

Step 1: Head and neck

Near the top draw an egg for the head. From the chin draw 2 short neck lines down, then stop.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.

Step 2: The face

In the middle of the head draw 2 big eyes with shines. Add a U nose and a smile.

Step 3: Headband and flower

Draw a band across the forehead, a little wider than the head. Add a 5-petal flower on one end.

Step 4: Long hair

Draw hair over the top with a parting line down the middle. From each band end hang a long lock.

Tip Each lock goes down past the chin, then curves back up to the bottom of a neck line.

Step 5: The shirt

From under each lock draw a round shoulder. From each armpit draw a side down, then join the hem.

Step 6: Long sleeves

Start at each shoulder end and armpit. Draw 2 lines down, bending at the elbow. Stop at the wrist.

Step 7: Mitten hands

At the bottom of each sleeve draw a round mitten with a thumb pointing in.

Step 8: Peace necklace

Hang 2 strings from the neck to a circle. Inside draw a line down and 2 slanting lines.

Tip The slanting lines start in the middle and go down to the edge, like an upside-down V.

Step 9: Flared jeans

From the hem's left corner draw 2 legs that get wide at the bottom. Stop at the right corner.

Tip Each leg is narrow at the knee and wide like a bell at the bottom.

Step 10: Shoes and ground

Under each leg draw a shoe, toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.

Step 11: Peach skin, pink flower

Colour the cheeks and flower petals pink. Colour the face, neck and hands peach.

Tip Leave the eyes white.

Step 12: Yellow band, orange shirt

Colour the headband, the flower's middle and the peace circle yellow. Colour the shirt and sleeves orange.

Step 13: Blue jeans, brown hair

Colour the jeans blue. Colour the long hair and the shoes brown. Your hippie is done!
